Histologi Kardiovaskular pada Wistar Diabetes Melitus Tipe 2 dengan Curcuma Zedoria
Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi pengaruh ekstrak kunyit putih (Curcuma zedoria) pada tikus Wistar yang menderita diabetes melitus tipe 2. Penelitian menggunakan metode eksperimental dengan desain one-group post-test only. Hewan uji yang digunakan adalah tikus Wistar jantan yang diinduksi diabetes menggunakan aloksan, kemudian diberikan ekstrak kunyit putih dengan dosis 250 mg/kgBB, 500 mg/kgBB, dan 750 mg/kgBB. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak kunyit putih dapat menurunkan kadar gula darah pada tikus yang diuji. Namun, analisis histopatologi jantung mengungkapkan adanya tingkat kerusakan yang bervariasi pada sel otot jantung, tergantung dosis ekstrak yang diberikan. Kesimpulannya, ekstrak kunyit putih memiliki potensi sebagai terapi penurun kadar gula darah pada diabetes melitus tipe 2, namun efek samping terhadap jantung harus diperhatikan
